Welcome back to normal life :-) Vacation is done, The 4th is done and gone and now, we are on the down hill jog towards fall. I mentioned last week that I was going to use the store ads and coupons to try and keep our grocery bill down. I had a goal of $120.00 but I spent $170. It would have cost about $80.00 more without all of my planning. I'm not sure I could have gotten it down to $120.00 even if I had taken out every single thing that we wouldn't have eaten this week. I'll keep trying :-)
Food prep! This is what I did this week:
Strawberries, Watermelon and grapes for our fruits. Some corn and a big package of chicken thighs . . .and that's it this week. When I try to keep the grocery bill down, I don't buy nearly as much fresh stuff because it adds up so fast.

Friday - So tonight, after the kids go to bed, we will be ordering something in. We haven't done this since long before vacation and I'm ready!! The kids will probably have Mac and Cheese which is their all time favorite thing.
Saturday - Today we are going to my in-laws for the day.
Sunday - We are headed to the beach again due to the hot and humid weather so we are going to have brunch - Overnight French Toast, bacon, tater tots and fruit. Then, after the beach we will stop at our all time favorite pizza place for dinner
Monday -Balsamic Pork Loin, mashed potatoes, green beans and bread
Tuesday - Marinated Chuck Steaks on the grill, Fried Zucchini and Potato Salad
Wednesday - Just the boys and I :-) We have an appointment late afternoon and then we'll get something to eat.
Thursday - BBQ Chicken on the Grill, corn on the cob, potato salad and rolls
The forecast says we will hit 90 degrees with humidity this week - my rule is that if it is over 90 (real or heat index) I don't cook so it is possible we will be grabbing some fast food a couple of nights :-)
