Weekly Menu

Last week, I decided to check out Aldi one more time since so many people rave about it.  I am just not impressed.  I actually went specifically to get some cheese spread that my mother-in-law had served on Easter but figured I'd walk the aisles and see what I could mark off my list.  Well, not much.  The prices on the things on my list were either the same or just pennies less; nothing worth making my normal shopping a two store trip.  So, I guess I will stick to Meijer for now :-)

About a year ago, I came across a blog called Pocket Change Gourmet which really helped me focus better on meal planning.  I used it most of the summer last year but by fall was ready to get back into some of our favorite recipes.  Now with summer coming, I'm going back to this same resource to help give me inspiration so I can stop cooking the same thing over and over again!

This week involves some fun for my birthday!

Friday - The kids are heading to my mom's house so the celebration continues HA!  We may go to our favorite Mexican place or I may pick somewhere different but either way, I'm not cooking!

Saturday-Sunday - Darryl has a fun weekend planned so all that matters for this post is I'm not cooking!

Monday - Cheesy Ham Quiche, Banana Bread, and roasted Asparagus

Tuesday - Quick and  Easy Cheeseburger Pies, French Fries and Salad

Wednesday - BBQ Meatballs and Mac and Cheese

Thursday - Kung Pao Chicken, Fried Rice and Broccoli

This week is filled with baseball -- photos and then practice - all gearing up for their first game a week from Saturday.  I tried to pick some easy and quick meals.  (Who am I kidding - my kids will end up eating Frozen Waffles, Chicken Nuggets and Corn Dogs/Hot Dogs most nights  . . .some day I hope they enjoy eating more food!)

Weekly Menu - It's been awhile

I keep thinking I will get back to writing more on my blog but right now in this "season" I find that my writing time is limited.  Even when I have ideas, I can't seem to get them from my brain to the blog!

We have been eating ;-)  I feel like we've been eating out a lot though.  I'm trying to cut back on it and plan better.

Here's the plan for the coming week:

Friday (Today): We had "dinner" at church.  Tonight is the AWANA fair at church which includes food but, I've learned from past years that my kids don't want to take time to eat when they can play games and earn tickets.  So I made sure that we had Lunchables, fruit and cheese and crackers before we went to the fair.

Saturday:  Pork Chops on the grill, baked potatoes, and Garlic Bread

Sunday:  Ham, Cheesey potatoes, green beans and rolls

Monday:  Chicken pasta and garlic bread

Tuesday:  Ham and Scallopped potatoes and asparagus

Wednesday:  Chicken in the crock pot, roasted veggies and pea salad

Thursday:  It's my BIRTHDAY!  My plan as of this moment is to have Darryl bring home Tacos from our favorite place!
