Food Friday - Homemade Spaghetti Sauce!

I can't seem to locate my blog calendar - the place where I write down everything I'm posting in future weeks so I don't forget something.  I'm sure I had a more exciting recipe to post today but . . I also know I've wanted to post this recipe for awhile too!  Since I made "cheater" spaghetti the other night, I kinda quilted myself into this post HA!  What is cheater Spaghetti . .. well, just open a jar and heat it up; dump it over noodles.  That is not REAL Sauce!

Spaghetti Sauce
adapted from Lynnette McMaster (one of my fabulous Sister-in-laws!)

When I was single, my sister-in-law would often share recipes with me that she thought would be useful and this one has been more than useful through the years!  I always question myself as to why I don't make batches and batches of this and always have it in the freezer!  Now that the weather is cooling off, I think I need to start simmering up some huge batches so I have easy sauce for stuffed shells, lasagna, spaghetti, and more!

1 pound hamburger
1 pound sausage
1 onion
2 16-oz cans stewed tomatoes
1 can tomato soup
1 can tomato paste
1 bay leaf
1 tablespoon sugar
garlic, onion salt, basil, oregano, parsley, rosemary, salt, pepper
1 large jar Ragu Spaghetti Sauce

Brown meat; Combine in a large pot. Sprinkle spices on top and mix in (to taste).  Add all other ingredients and simmer on the stove for several hours, stirring occasionally.

(make several batches and freeze!)
