This past week, the menu worked out pretty good. One day I am really trying to streamline is Sunday. It took too long after church to get lunch on the table, too long to clean up, because we ate late, we didn't eat dinner but then the kids were hungry at 7:30, which was bed time. If we had a great pizza place around here, I'd make Sunday night pizza night, but we don't so I need something simple. We don't tend to have many leftovers to snack on either. Because we love to watch football on Sunday afternoons - I don't want to be cooking and cleaning through kick off time :-)
Here's the plan for this week:
Friday I'll just say that our tacos last week were fabulous. So fabulous that I turned them into Nachos for Lunch on Saturday! Tonight we'll have Chicken Tacos. Thankfully Walmart had their good crcok-pots marked down to 19.97 . . .since I still needed to replace mine :-)
Saturday - Darryl is working; I'm going to take the boys to a fall festival here in town then head to the city to make a Hobby Lobby stop for a couple of school things I can't find online. Since we will be in town, we'll meet up with the Big D for dinner.
Sunday It is just the boys today as Darryl has to work and then has a concert. I plan on making some Sloppy Joes up on Saturday to eat for lunch today. Josh LOVES them. I'll serve it with some chips . . .Nate loves chips :-/
Monday - This is a carry over from last week - Monte Cristo Stuffed Chicken, Baked Mac and Cheese, Sauteed Cabbage and Biscuits. I'm doing chicken tonight because this meal will take more prep work and I'll be gone part of the day on Tuesday.
Tuesday - I'm scrapbooking most of the day so I've planned a quick dinner - Meatball Soup and Bread.
Wednesday - Mini Sausage Quiches, Easy Banana Bread and Fruit. Really, the quiches, are for me ;-) I'm not sure if either boy will try them but I love them. Then can eat bread and fruit :-)
Thursday - Sweet and Sour Meatballs, baked Brown Rice and asparagus. I've made this a few times and have mixed feelings on it. I'm going to try it one more time and decide if we "love it or leave it".
For some extra things - Chocolate and Peanut Butter Chip pretzel cookies and Pumpkin Crunch.
