Sunday Scripture, Songs and Sayings

I heard this song on Saturday while driving to a scrapbooking crop.  I had never heard it before I just really liked the message of the song.

 I don't wanna hear anymore
Teach me to listen
I don't wanna see anymore
Give me a vision
That you could move this heart, to be set apart

I don't need to recognize the man in the mirror
And I don't wanna trade Your plan for something familiar
I can't waste a day
I can't stay the same

I wanna be different
I wanna be changed
'Til all of me is gone
And all that remains
Is a fire so bright
The whole world can see
That there's something different
So come and be different
In me

And I don't wanna spend my life stuck in a pattern
And I don't wanna gain this world but lose what matters
And so I'm giving up everything because

I wanna be different
I wanna be changed
'Til all of me is gone
And all that remains
Is a fire so bright
The whole world can see
That there's something different
So come and be different
In me

I don't want to spend my life stuck in a pattern
I don't want to gain this world but lose what matters
So I'm giving up everything because

I know, that I am far from perfect
But through You, the cross still says I'm worth it
So take this beating in my heart and
Come and finish what You started
When they see me, let them see You
'Cause I just wanna be different, yea

I wanna be different
I wanna be changed
'Til all of me is gone
And all that remains
Oh is a fire so bright
The whole world can see
That there's something different
So come and be different

I just wanna be different
So could You be different
In me

A Pinterest Find

I jumped onto Pinterest to look for some inspiration and this was the first "pin" I saw.

It's a great little article and a good list of verses.  Check it out at The Modern Mary and there is even a printable.

Sunday Scripture/Song - Zach Williams - Old Church Choir

I thought this song tied in well with my recent post on joy.  I was listening to our local Christian station while working in the kitchen when this song came on and just loved it!

Old Church Choir There's revival and it's spreading Like a wildfire in my heart A Sunday morning hallelujah And it's lasting all week long Can you hear it? Can you feel it? It's the rhythm of a gospel song Once you choose it, you can't lose it There ain't nothing There ain't nothing gonna steal my joy I've got an old church choir singing in my soul I've got a sweet salvation and it's beautiful I've got a heart overflowing cause I've been restored No there ain't nothing gonna steal my joy No there ain't nothing gonna steal my joy When the valleys that I wander Turn to mountains that I can't climb You are with me, you never leave me There ain't nothing There ain't nothing gonna steal my joy I've got an old church choir singing in my soul I've got a sweet salvation and it's beautiful I've got a heart overflowing cause I've been restored No there ain't nothing gonna steal my joy No there ain't nothing gonna steal my joy Clap your hands and stomp your feet Till you find that gospel beat Cause He's all you'll ever need He's all you'll ever need I've got an old church choir singing in my soul I've got a sweet salvation and it's beautiful I've got a heart overflowing cause I've been restored No there ain't nothing gonna steal my joy No there ain't nothing gonna steal my joy

Sunday Scripture/Song - He Always Wins by Matt Hammitt

I heard this song for the first time a week or so ago and just love it.

[Verse 1]
As long as I'm able, let the work of my hands
Bring glory to Jesus, on Him I stand
Struggles try to snare me, sin plans defeat
But there is nothing stronger than the Rock beneath

[Chorus]
Over any trial, over any sin
My God in Heaven, He always wins
He is over life, He is over death
His love is eternal, it never ends

[Post-Chorus]
Oh-ooh, oh-oh-ooh
Oh-ooh, oh-oh-ooh

[Verse 2]
Like a tree by the waters, my roots run deep
And I thirst for nothing but His love for me
His mercy is endless, His promise is true
I will not be left wanting, when it's Him I choose

[Chorus]
Over any trial, over any sin
My God in Heaven, He always wins
He is over life, He is over death
His love is eternal, it never ends

Scripture Sunday - Andrew Peterson - Faith To Be Strong

Give Us Faith to Be Strong
-Andrew Peterson
Give us faith to be strong
Father, we are so weak
Our bodies are fragile and weary
As we stagger and stumble to walk where you lead
Give us faith to be strong
Give us faith to be strong
Give us strength to be faithful
This life is not long, but it's hard
Give us grace to go on
Make us willing and able
Lord, give us faith to be strong
Give us peace when we're torn
Mend us up when we break
This flesh can be wounded and shaking
When there's much too much trouble for one heart to take
Give us peace when we're torn
Give us faith to be strong
Give us strength to be faithful
This life is not long, but it's hard
Give us grace to go on
Make us willing and able
Lord, give us faith to be strong
Give us hearts to find hope
Father, we cannot see
How the sorrow we feel can bring freedom
And as hard as we try, Lord, it's hard to believe
So, give us hearts to find hope
Give us faith to be strong
Give us strength to be faithful
This life is not long, but it's hard
Give us grace to go on
Make us willing and able
Lord, give us faith to be strong
Give us peace when we're torn
Give us faith, faith to be strong

Sunday Song - He Always Wins

Traveling home from Grand Rapids yesterday, I heard this song and just really loved the message.

As long as I'm able, let the work of my hands
Bring glory to Jesus, on Him I stand
Struggles try to snare me, sin plans defeat
But there is nothing stronger than the Rock beneath

[Chorus]
Over any trial, over any sin
My God in Heaven, He always wins
He is over life, He is over death
His love is eternal, it never ends

[Post-Chorus]
Oh-ooh, oh-oh-ooh
Oh-ooh, oh-oh-ooh

[Verse 2]
Like a tree by the waters, my roots run deep
And I thirst for nothing but His love for me
His mercy is endless, His promise is true
I will not be left wanting, when it's Him I choose

[Chorus]
Over any trial, over any sin
My God in Heaven, He always wins
He is over life, He is over death
His love is eternal, it never ends
