Summer Fun Week 8

Eight weeks of summer already???  Thankfully we still 5 full weeks before our school year technically starts (and we start slow HA!).  One of the many reasons I'm thankful for the ability and opportunity to homeschool is that our breaks can be longer and much more enjoyable!

Monday, 7/24 - Nate headed to camp!  I love to scour the camps Facebook page and find as many photos of Nate as I can!

Tuesday, 7/25 - Joshua got a hair cut and both of my extras had things today so they were in and out (Haircuts, Dentist Appointments, and a Volleyball camp)  I'm thankful that we can work together so well and get everyone where they need to be!

Wednesday, 7/26 - I originally was going to take the guys out for a little scavenger hunt but then the storms rolled in and we stayed home.

Thursday - 7/27 - Truth be told, I'm enjoying these stay at home, do nothing days right now.

Friday - 7/28 - Lots of video games on this steamy day!

Saturday - 7/29 - Nate's Home!

Sunday 7/30 - Nate has been looking forward to this Austin French Concert since it was released!  I'm so glad we were able to go :-)

Summer Fun Werk 7

If you would have asked me last Sunday how our week seven looked I would have told you that it was “quiet”.  Then I woke up Monday to messages that made our week in-quiet 🤣. It was all good - just busy!!

Monday - my guys went to my moms to mow her grass and I went grocery shopping.  My mom also joined us for dinner.  The animals had a quiet day though!

Tuesday - Nate spent the afternoon at a friends house, Joshua had his first PT appointment and we went to the fair!

Wednesday - Today we went to the park to meet up with some king time friends.

Thursday -  a quiet day!!!  We all just enjoyed hanging at home and watching a movie or two and playing video games.

Friday - my day started with coffee with a couple of friends, then taking a few peeps out Pokémon hunting and we ended the day with friends for a campfire.

Saturday -  we headed to Darryl’s dads house for the afternoon where I met some new friends .🤣. Then we ended our day at my moms where she treated us to pizza and we enjoyed a family zoom call.

Sunday-  we headed to church and then to my mother-in-laws for a gathering with Darryl’s family and his aunt we haven’t seen in quite a few years.

Josh made a few calls on this old phone (and yes it actually works!)
The view out of Darryl’s moms front window.  Such a great view!
Darryl’s Uncle Jim passed away about three years ago.  He was a DJ and a musician.  Darryl’s Aunt Janet brought Jim’s guitar and gave it to Darryl.  Such a special gift.

On the way to my in-laws we stopped at a church to see long time friends who were sharing their ministry just down the road from my in laws.

Summer Fun Week 6

This is one of those weeks that started out slow but then is ending super busy!  It's our last "super" busy week which I am thankful for!  I have some projects to get done before our co-op starts and school picks up in the fall :-)

Monday - We had a quiet day at home.  The kids played a new game that Nate's had for awhile.  They laughed a ton - I laughed just listening to them play!

Tuesday - Another game day :-)

Wednesday - We had a beach day with our co-op group and it was a fun day!  The weather was near perfect and we all enjoyed lots of time hanging out with friends.

Thursday - We were running all day!  First, I had a leadership meeting in the morning followed by Nate's hair cut.  In the afternoon Josh had a quick doctor's appointment and then my mom came for dinner :-)

Friday - Joshua and Nate had an all nighter with their Sunday School class.

Saturday - Darryl and I attended my high school reunion.  Actually they do an "All School Reunion" every year.  This was the 15th year so I finally decided to go and enjoy catching up with a few friends.

Sunday - We attended a Ball Brother Concert - it was a birthday gift to my mom and it was a great day!

Weekly Menu

This coming week is pretty quiet - it's the first really quiet week of the summer (no one is at camp, no family visiting, no field trips - nothing!).  It will be nice!

Here is the plan for the coming week:

Friday:  Joshua and Nate have a lock-in/all nighter at our church so Darryl and I will get a date night.

Sunday - For my mom's birthday we got her a certificate to see her favorite group who happens to be "retiring" from touring so this is their final tour.  Dill Shrimp pasta is on the menu

Thursday - Chicken Scaloppini and French Bread

Summer Fun Week 5

How are we already 5 weeks into summer???  It's been kind of an abnormally hot and dry summer (granted we have had rain this past week).  Often June is semi-comfortable before the July heat hits but not this year!  I feel like it's been hot since April HA!  (even though we actually got some light snow in April!!)  Anyway,  here's a look back at our week.

Monday, July 3rd - It was a recovery day for Darryl.  My brother, sister-in-law, mom and our two teens did a ton of yardwork since Darryl's been out of commission for a few months (to prevent further issues with his hernia) and is recovering from surgery.  The yard looks awesome and we are so thankful for all of the work they did!

Tuesday - July 4th!!!  We had a great family day!  First most everyone headed to see the latest Indiana Jones Movie at our favorite theater (Recliners that are so comfy!)  Then we all met back at my mom's house for an afternoon of games and a great steak dinner!

Wednesday - July 5th - My guys stayed at my mom's to get their last "fill" of time with their Aunt and Uncle.  They were treated well by my sister-in-law HA!

Thursday - July 6th - Everyone was finally back home.  Ken and Lynnette left for home and will be missed.  It was a great two weeks!

Friday -  July 7th - we got to see some friends in town from Florida.

Saturday - July 8th - my mom and I had to make a trip for her to sign her car title and then she treated us all to Pizza Hut.

Sunday - July 9th- a quiet day with just church.
