I jumped onto Pinterest to look for some inspiration and this was the first "pin" I saw.

It's a great little article and a good list of verses.  Check it out at The Modern Mary and there is even a printable.

I missed a day

When I decided to start back to blogging, I worked hard to not miss a day and I haven't . . .until yesterday!  (I may have posted late in a day but I still posted HA!)  To make it worse, I missed a day that is easy . . Sunday.  I just post a scripture or a song.  BUT, we went swimming Saturday evening after a busy day and we swam until 10:00 pm.  For real!  By the time we got home and got a snack it was time for bed and we were all tired HA!  So, oops!

Up until this week, I've had a good two weeks worth of posts, or at least ideas, ready to go but as I start this week, I'm out of ideas!  I'm sure they will come to me as the week goes by but for now, the well is running a little dry :-)

Our Week in Photos #13

This was a little bit slower of a week but that's ok sometimes.

On Saturday we were at my mom's for a baby shower and that was pretty much the whole day :-)  No photos, just fun!

Sunday brought some fun!

 Darryl  had a concert on Sunday - an outdoor concert which was extra fun!  The boys love going to the concerts and helping Darryl set up.  Nate was thrilled because the group sang two of his favorite songs.  After the concert, there was a fabulous picnic and games for the kids.  It was truely a great Sunday at church!

Monday was a no picture day again but the boys went to choir practice with me.  Darryl ended up having to work late at the last minute so, they packed up their Ipads and came along for the ride.  They were wonderful!!

Tuesday we visited the new Dental office in our town. They had their grand opening which included a tour and snacks (well, the boys ate enough for it to be dinner HA!)  This is actually our dentist so it was fun to go and see everyone.

 The boys got to ride in the dentist chair.  Which they loved.

This was our first ribbon cutting. :-)  The boys like sitting on the truck watching the events.

Wednesday  Darryl left on his annual road trip with his dad.

 They are headed east to see lots of historical sites.  Darryl's dad loves to travel but doesn't like to do all of the driving so he pays for Darryl to go along with him and . .well, be his taxi driver :-)

I totally forgot to take pictures but it was also the start of AWANA on Wednesday night!  Josh moved up to the next age group with the "big kids".  It kind of tugged at my heart because he isn't with the little kids anymore . . .the next step after this is the youth group! AHHHH!!

Thursday brought unexpected fun - we went swimming!!

 This was the photo of the "last time swimming at the pool".  My mom called and said, "Hey, I just found out they are closing the pool tonight AND it's warm so lets swim!"  You dont have to ask me twice.  The pool WAS warm and fabulous! 

To make it even better, while we were swimming, the manager came out and said, "Well, you now have until 9:00 on Friday evening to swim before it will REALLY be closed" !  All of us in the pool cheered!  So this isn't our last night swimming - we will get one more night! 

Weekly Menu

Last week was a pretty easy week as far as meals.  Darryl was gone on a trip with his dad so I made simple meals and we ate with my mom.  This week I think we might actually be back into somewhat of a normal routine.  We have a camping trip planned in about a month, our last one of the season, so I'm trying to be proactive and plan the meals now and then double up on cooking those and throw one in the freezer for camping.   It will keep things simple as far as prep work which is always good!

Here's the plan for the coming week.

Friday:  Dinner with my mom

Saturday:  Papa Murpheys Pizza - we recieved coupons in th email this past week and Josh was so excited to get them I figured we could pick up some pizza to cook at home.

Sunday: Slow Cooker Beef and Noodles and Mixed Veggies

Monday: Leftovers for the adults and Chicken and Fries for the Kids.  (I have a hair appointment so really, Darryl just needs to feed the boys and himself!)

Tuesday: Honey Ginger Glased Chicken and Rice.

Wednesday: Darryl has practice so we usually have dinner with my mom

Thursday: Tacos!!

Something Yummy - Fruit Pizza

Years ago I sold Pampered Chef and I really enjoyed it.  I love the recipes and I love the product.  This recipe was one of the go to recipes I used when I did demo's at peoples homes.  It was easy, quick and showcased quite a few products.  This did not disappoint!  Such a simple yummy dessert. 

Ingredients

1 package refrigerated sugar cookie dough
1 package cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
4 cups fruit (strawberries, kiwi, bananas, peaches, blueberries or raspberries

Directions
1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees. For crust, shape cookie dough into a ball.  Place dough on a pizza stone or a cookie sheet; flatten slightly with palm of hand.
2. Using light floured rolling pin, roll out dough to 12" circle about 1/4 inch thick (note, if using a cookie sheet - make it into a rectangle instead)
3. Bake 18-20 minutes or until light golden brown.  Remove pan from oven to cooling rack; cool 10 minutes.  Carefully loosen cookie sheet from baking stone.  Cool Completely.  (Note: I used parchment paper on my stone so I didn't need to loosen it)
4. For topping, combine cream cheese and sugar in small bowl; mix well.  Spread mixture evenly over top of cookie.  Arrange fruit over cream cheese mixture; refrigerate.
5. Cut into 16 wedges OR cut into smaller squares.

What I'm Reading

I found a really great new series because, well, the first book was free on Amazon (Not sure if it still is at the time this posts but you can check!)

This series is a fun mystery series that takes place in England.  I found that I couldn't put each book down and couldn't wait to read the next book in the series.  There is a new book expected out in this series soon!

I also continued on with the Aloha Series and read the next book.  I must be really into mysteries right now because this is also a mystery series.  This one is a little more intense though and keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens.  I will say that it does follow the protocal of "the guy always gets his girl" in the end which is good but very perdictable :-)

A Few of my Favorite Things

I like to challenge myself with this post to NOT post more than one food item.  :-)

 Even though I've only eaten from a food truck once, I love this show.  If we lived closer to the city, we'd eat at them more.  I think the food always looks so amazing! 

 Yogurt is my thing lately HA!  This is a French style yogurt that comes in glass jars.  It's really good - think and creamy and not sour at all.  My husband things its gross though !! 

Yep, another TV show.  This show always amazes me with 1) how bad people cook and 2) How they learn stuff so fast.  They must prep them all week on some things because some of those cooks can do things I would never think to try!
